What better way to cleanse my eyes of the Snyder-verse than with the DC animated movies which, by the definition of animation, almost guarantees way more colors than I ever saw in Dawn of Justice? And if you want the lowdown on my April 1st post, scroll to the very bottom.

[#366Flicks] Absolutely unreal.
It’s an eternal story. Boy meets girl. Girl falls in love. Girl turns out to be from the Luna Queendom on the moon and is being blackmailed into coming to Earth to carry out a diabolical plot. Boy helps girl lead the aquatic fish people of Earth in a revolt.
I mean, who hasn’t been there?
[#366Flicks] Rock ’em sock ’em in Gotham
The Caped Crusader against the Man of Steel! Defender of Gotham against the Son of Krypton! Hardened city boy against country yokel!
No matter who wins…audiences kinda lose.
[#366Flicks] CHINCHILLA!
Some experimental artists can be a little strange. Those people look at Frank and say “dude, that guy is weird.” See, it can be really counter productive when you get too far inside your own head.
(Spoilers for Frank below.)
[#366Flicks] This is the correct address…for TERROR!
Let’s take a big budget special effects shaky cam Godzilla inspired monster movie featuring colossal destruction and make a pseudo-sequel that is a small tense thriller set in a bunker featuring only three characters. Yeah, that makes sense.
[#366Flicks] Help! I’ve fallen and I can’t reload!
Most action stars get started in their younger days and ride that train for as long as they can until they go full Murtaugh and are too old for that shit. Liam Neeson went the other way. After reaching what may have been the height of his career in Schindler’s List, (I haven’t seen it, it’s in the queue), he decided to start training Jedi, batmen, and saving his family from eastern Europeans. By the time the first Taken was released he was already past 50. Turning 64 this June, I took a look at Neeson’s run of hard boiled action thrillers of recent years to see if you really can teach an old dog new CQC tactics.
[#366Flicks] MAXIMUM EFFORT + Oscars Round Up
It’s a big day! Today we have an R rated superhero movie, my Oscar round up and predictions, and it’s Leap Day! This is the day that forces…er…allows me to watch one more movie than the average movie-a-day watcher this year. Huzzah! Now, without further ado, it’s time for some spandex and dick jokes.
[#366Flicks] Lightning Round 2
A busy week for me means we have a quick pick sampling of reviews. Deep thoughts? Close analysis? Carefully curated films that share a central theme and expose nuance and subtlety in each individual movie while lifting up the group as whole with their unified message? None of that nonsense! Just a handful of random movies and some quick thoughts on them. Look, some crazy person decided to watch 366 movies this year, I have a quota to hit.
[#366Flicks] SEX!
For Valentine’s Day this post is all about one thing.
Sex. Making love. The horizontal mambo. Bumping uglies. Making whoopee. Banging. Doing it. Intercourse. Sexy times. Laying pipe. Boning. Doing the nasty. Making the beast with two backs. Screwing. Fornication. Nookie. Hanky panky. Bow-chick-a-wow-wow. The pants off dance off. Humping. Shagging. A roll in the hay. Porking. Coitus.
[#366Flicks] Love hurts.
Soon many people will be celebrating Valentine’s Day, a day set aside to show your love for one another and really give that special someone your heart. This week I watched a pair of movies that feature someone taking people’s hearts. Forcefully. Through their rib cage. With a pick ax.
I’m a romantic, deep down.
